Who we are

CSVNow ("we", "us", or "our") is a browser-based CSV utility platform available at csvnow.vercel.app. We provide tools to convert, clean, and repair CSV files.

What data we collect

We collect the minimum data necessary to operate CSVNow:

• Account data — if you create an account: your email address and a hashed password.
• Usage data — which tools you use, how often, and from which country (no IP address stored).
• Payment data — handled entirely by LemonSqueezy. We never see or store your card details.
• Support messages — if you contact us, we keep that correspondence.

We do not collect names, phone numbers, or any data beyond what's listed above.

How we use your data

We use collected data solely to:

• Provide and improve the CSVNow service
• Authenticate your account and enforce plan limits
• Send transactional emails (receipts, password resets)
• Understand which tools are most useful (aggregate analytics only)

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose not listed here. We do not sell your data to any third party.

Your files & privacy

On paid plans (Pro / Business), certain AI-powered features may send file content to our processing server to run the analysis. In those cases:

• Files are processed in memory and immediately discarded after the operation completes.
• We do not store, log, or retain any file content.
• Transmission is encrypted via HTTPS/TLS.

We will never read, share, or use the content of your CSV files for any purpose other than completing the requested operation.

Cookies & analytics

We use a minimal set of cookies:

• Session cookies — to keep you logged in. These expire when you close your browser.
• Preference cookies — to remember your plan toggle (monthly/annual) and UI settings.

We use privacy-friendly analytics (no cross-site tracking, no fingerprinting) to understand page performance. No personally identifiable information is collected through analytics.

You can disable cookies in your browser settings. Core functionality works without cookies on the Free plan.

Third-party services

We use a small number of trusted third-party services:

• LemonSqueezy — payment processing for Pro and Business plans. Their privacy policy applies to payment data.
• Vercel — hosting and edge delivery. See Vercel's privacy policy.
• Groq / AI providers — used only for AI-powered Pro features. Requests are sent without any identifying user information.

We do not use Facebook Pixel, Google Ads, or any advertising trackers.

Data retention

• Account data — retained while your account is active, and deleted within 30 days of account deletion.
• Usage logs — aggregated and anonymised after 90 days.
• File content — never retained (see Section 4).
• Support correspondence — retained for up to 2 years.

Your rights

Depending on where you are located, you may have the following rights:

• Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you.
• Correction — ask us to correct inaccurate data.
• Deletion — request deletion of your account and associated data.
• Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format.
• Objection — opt out of any processing you believe is unfair.

To exercise any of these rights, email YOUR_EMAIL_HERE. We respond within 14 business days.

Children's privacy

CSVNow is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be communicated to registered users via email.

Continued use of CSVNow after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
